EV CHARGING ADAPTERS 

You may need an adapter if your GM EV's charging inlet doesn't match the connector type at the charger you want to use, such as NACS vs CCS1 or J1772. An adapter bridges that gap so you can safely plug into more types of public and home chargers, expanding your charging options on the go and at home. Reference the owner's manual to learn. 

Start by checking two things: your GM EV's charging inlet and the type of home charger you have. If you drive a NACS-native GM EV, you'll use the GM J1772 AC Adapter with J1772 home chargers (like GM PowerUp 2), the GM PowerShift AC Adapter with a GM Energy PowerShift Charger for everyday home charging and the GM CCS1 DC Adapter with a GM Energy PowerShift Charger and GM Energy V2H Enablement Kit when you want your V2H-capable EV to help power your properly equipped home during an outage. If you drive a GM EV with a CCS1 inlet and have a NACS home charger, you'll use the GM NACS Level 2 Adapter to connect the two.

For public charging in a CCS1 vehicle, you can use the GM NACS DC Adapter at compatible NACS DC fast chargers, including many Superchargers*. In a NACS-native vehicle, you can use the GM J1772 AC Adapter at Level 2 J1772 public chargers and the GM CCS1 DC fast chargers. Always confirm that the adapter matches both your GM EV's charging inlet and the connector type at the station before you plug in.
