STEP 2

Consult With Installer

If you choose a GM-preferred installer, they’ll ask for some basic information about your home and the GM Energy products you want installed so they can provide a quote for installation.

STEP 3

Review Your Installation Quote

Once you receive your installation quote from your GM-preferred installer, review it carefully. If you have any questions, reach out to your installer.

Permitting & Installation

Your GM-preferred installer will take care of pulling the required permits. Once approved, your installer will contact you to schedule installation on your preferred date and time.

Installation Complete

Once installation is complete, you’ll need to add your GM Energy products to your GM vehicle mobile app.* This gives you access to your GM Energy dashboard, lets you add your utility rate plan* and more.

Pre-Install

Decide where you want GM Energy products installed in your home. For the GM Energy Home System and GM Energy Storage Bundle, make a list of major appliances you’d like to be able to power with your stored energy. 
During Install

A qualified installer will set up your GM Energy equipment and may temporarily shut off power to your home as part of the process. Once wiring between all components is complete, your GM Energy ecosystem will be energized. After setup is finalized, your installer will commission the GM Energy product to ensure it’s ready for use.*
Post-Install

After installation and commissioning, your system is enabled to connect with your GM vehicle mobile app.* Once added to your account, you’ll be able to monitor and manage your GM Energy ecosystem directly from your mobile phone.

Decide where you want GM Energy products installed in your home. For the GM Energy Home System and GM Energy Storage Bundle, make a list of major appliances you’d like to be able to power with your stored energy.

How long will it take after I submit my order before my system is fully installed and ready to use?

The installation process and timeline is heavily dependent on your equipment selection and preferences, your current setup and the permitting requirements of your local jurisdiction.

I just had my system installed; how do I add it to my vehicle mobile app?*

After installation and commissioning, your system should appear in your vehicle mobile app. If your system is not showing in the app after 24 hours, you can manually add it by tapping your profile avatar -> add product -> GM Energy.
